Welcome to my site. I’m Brenda Witchger, aka Brynn Bonner. I was born and grew up in Alabama, then married a Yankee and spent 17 years in exile in Michigan. I loved many of the people there, but never adjusted to the cold and the constant rush.

I’ve been back in the south a while now and am still grateful every day for the wonderful tradition of storytelling here. A southerner can turn a trip into the grocery store into a tale. I’m convinced stories just thrive in humidity.

I live and work now in North Carolina where I live with my husband and sometimes with some combination of our three children who are college students and recent grads. We all love our adopted state. And I say that amidst a brutal heat wave with humidity levels leaving us feeling like we need to grow gills. And with a series of tropical storms brewing out in the Atlantic that have us all keeping a wary eye out for yet another hurricane that might be taking a bead on us.
